Time to G9, What color do you prefer? 🎨
What is an icon...#Baracuta was founded in 1937 in Manchester, at the time known as Cottonopolis due to the important textile industry district, by John and Isaac Miller.
In 1937 John and Isaac Miller renamed the factory the Baracuta Factory and, frequenting the ⛳️🏌🏽♀️Club House at the Manchester Golf Club, began working on a jacket designed for golfers.
The new creation was equipped with the innovative zipper and to protect golfers from the rain, the characteristic cape on the back, called umbrella back vent, was added to the garment.
The Millers designed a high neck, dog-ear collar, and equipped it with buttons.
Finally, they added elastic bands at the bottom of the sleeves to cover players during impact with the ball and designed large front pockets, which could be closed with a button, designed to hold two golf balls.
The Miller Brothers then dedicated themselves to researching a fabric for the lining of the G9 that could make the garment more recognisable. Starting in 1947, the Miller brothers began to export their products to the United States 🇺🇸 and Canada 🇨🇦 The Baracuta brand recorded a good number of sales especially in the East Coast and in California where the brand was aimed at a specific target, namely to the middle class with a university 🎓education, thanks to a targeted advertising campaign.
Five years later the jacket appeared on the cover of Life magazine, in 1963, worn by #SteveMcQueen ⭐️ riding his motorbike 🏍️… the rest is history….
