The year was 1989 and it was precisely the month of January: Porsche was taking off, developing the PFM 3200 aircraft engine. In the development of the engines, Porsche technicians also gave importance to the economic and ecological aspects: the noise levels of Porsche-equipped aircraft were defined as well below those with competitor engines by aligning the sound tests to 10 or more dB lower than others. Fuel consumption also remained well below the values ​​reported when using other engines. In short, an important result even in an area that until then had remained extremely unknown. But Porsche’s main focus has always remained performance, even when the road is covered in clouds, so much so that flight tests carried out for example on Cessna models reached speeds of 330 km/h while on average they did not exceed 260 km/h.
