the Camel Trophy represented 360° adventure in the common imagination.
It took place from 1980 to 2000 in harsh and inaccessible territories, putting men and equipment to the test.
The sand-coloured Land Rover Defender and Discovery (called sandglow) were the protagonists of an adventure in the most inaccessible places in the world in which many dreamed of being able to participate.
As confirmed by the many yellow stickers found on the bodies of many off-road vehicles and cars. The Camel Trophy marked an era with its off-road courses in the most remote and inhospitable corners of the globe.
The Amazon rainforest, Papua New Guinea, Borneo, Australia etc. Giving strong sensations to those who took part in it by overcoming a tough selection. I don’t know if the end of this competition was decreed by the strict anti-smoking regulations.
